The Small Market Pacers Are Ready To Spend Big Money And Run This Team Back Next Season

C'mon Shams, I don't even want to think about the future of Myles Turner right now, the Pacers have an NBA title to win. I'm locked in on the Pacers shocking the world, while Shams is already looking at the Pacers 2025-2026 season? While I'm only looking at Game 3 vs OKC, the small market Pacers willingness go into the luxury tax for Myles is HUGE news. 

Keeping Myles Turner is essential to the success of the Pacers, Myles is an X-factor. People have been hard on Myles over the years for not bringing down 15 rebounds a game, but what Myles does for floor spacing is essential to this team. Centers that space the floor like Myles don't grow on trees, he'd be almost impossible to replace. Which is why teams with enough cap space like Detroit are ready to drop a bag to get a guy like Myles. 

The question is, why would Myles leave Indiana for a few extra bucks? What Indiana has right now is clearly working, why change it up? Turner leaving would be a devastating blow to the success of the team, and Pascal Siakam would be losing his #2 dream teammate. An insane list when it came out, but not looking as insane now. There is no way Myles walks when we've got Siakam begging for Myles to stay. 

I don't think the front office, or the players on this roster will have to do much begging to keep Myles. The letter Turner wrote to the city of Indianapolis after round 1 of the playoffs proves he knows he's in the ideal  situation, and wants to be a Pacer for life. 

Sure, Turner has been on Indiana's trade block for what feels like 10 out of his 10 seasons in the NBA. But, things have a way of working out. Myles seems happy, and he's about to get paid, even if it means Indiana goes into the luxury tax. Every penny spent on Myles will be worth the cost. I'm done worrying about contract negotiations. Let's enjoy the now, and get a championship, then run it back next year with this incredible team.
