Heating Up: Vermont Eyes Its Sixth Straight Win at New Hampshire

Don't let the Catamounts get hot. Vermont (15-6, 5-1) has won five straight games and now stands alone on top of the America East standings. If UVM can get through this week unscathed, look out. The key word there, though, is "if." This week is certainly going to test Coach Becker's bunch, as a pair of road tests are ahead. First up: a much improved New Hampshire team (10-9, 3-3) down in Durham. Let's dive into this matchup between UVM and UNH.

Twinning!: Vermont and New Hampshire are affectionately known as the "Twin States." If you look on a map, each state looks very similar to each other, with the only difference is that they are a reflection of their bordering state. Vermont and New Hampshire also neighbor each other in state area (square miles) rankings, as they are No. 45 and 46, respectively. And funny enough, it's another state in the New England region that produces the most twins in the country. 4.5 out of every 100 live births in Massachusetts are twins.

A Long, Long, Time Ago: This rivalry goes way back. And I mean wayyyyy back. Hello, Dec. 8, 1906! The average price of a men's suit that year was just $8.89. According to Business Insider, the first suit you buy today should be right around the $500 range. That's a whopping 5524% increase. As for the final score when the Catamounts and Wildcats first met 114 years ago, Vermont won that one 28-3. I have no idea how that was a real basketball score back in the day. Where have we seen that score before? It is Super Bowl week after all.

Six Pack of Dubs?: Should the Catamounts come out on top tonight, they would continue their longest winning streak of the season and it would build to six games. If you're reading this, congratulations! You have beautiful six-pack of abdominal muscles. However, for most of us (myself included), that beautiful set is covered by layers of body fat. What party poopers. The average price of a Bud Light six pack is $5.79. Unfortunately, sources tell me a six pack of beers does not correlate to a better looking six pack of abs. That's a shame.

Line: Vermont -12.5, O/U 128
