Everybody Needs To Grow Up When Talking About Darrelle Revis

Right now there 2 groups of people – rational adults thinking about football and facts, and irrational children who are worried about ex-teams and loyalties to the fans and the franchise and what not.

I dont understand why its so hard to separate the facts from all the fluff. And its both fan bases. There are Jets fans who dont want him because they view him as tainted. Like they’d rather go another year with the worst secondary in football than have the best corner of all time play for their team. There are Pats fans who are acting like this turn of events just doesnt matter because they already won with Revis. Like because he didnt bow down to the Patriots franchise that means they dont need him anyway so they’re ok with him leaving. Grow up, children. This is sports. This is a business. Its a cause and effect, cost-benefit industry. Winning cures all and makes everyone forget about all the other irrelevant shit, and Darrelle Revis helps the Jets win. Not having him hurts the Patriots chances to win. Period. End of statement. End of argument.

It doesnt matter that the Jets dont have a quarterback. That has absolutely nothing to do with Revis locking down the secondary. It doesnt matter that the Pats just won a Super Bowl. Because now going forward they are a worse team. They let the best player at his position walk and go to a division rival. These are the facts that have nothing to do with fanhood and feelings and emotions. People keep saying “The Jets wont win a Super Bowl next year after this move.” No, they probably wont. But neither will New England. They barely won it with him and now they’ve gotten significantly worse. They had a winning formula and could have kept it all intact and didnt.

Grow up, Peter Pan. Count Chocula. Breaking this down as Xs and Os and looking at it strictly as a football move – which is all that matters – its phenomenal move for the Jets and a huge blow for the Pats. Stop living in the fantasy world where these players and franchises get as attached and as emotional as we do. Start thinking about this as an adult and view it for what it is.

Now all that being said buy a t shirt. He’s ours not yours! Nanny nanny poo poo!
