The Pistons Clock Operator Just Set A Horrific Precedent With One Of The Worst Errors Of All Time And Should Be Fired Then Banned From The NBA Immediately

I take it as a badge of honor that I have become the go to guy for clock errors across the country because of my time working for small per game paychecks around the tri state area doing the shot clock, game clock or scoreboard. I have even offered my services to some big time coaches.
So when a DEBACLE like this happens in an NBA game you best believe I get the tweets calling for the operator's head.
Brunson missed the Free Throw literally to PERFECTION and the clock operator inexplicably started the clock before anyone came even close to touching the ball. An absolute ROOKIE mistake. It's so bad I expect it from a mom volunteering at St.Ann's who had a few cocktails at Lee's Tavern before the 8pm game, not an NBA game ! Just awful … as awful as it gets.
And then for some god for saken reason, the refs give the ball to The Pistons for a chance to win the game. Luckily Detroit threw the worst inbounds pass of all time.
What a travesty. And the worst part of all of this, is that this moronic clock operator just set a precedent that everyone can copy. If your home team is down, why not commit the error if they clearly miss and pray you get the rebound and the refs just give you the ball. Absolute joke. Such a bad spot and a potential disaster moving forward.
PS- As this went to print we got some explanation as to why Detroit got the ball
Agreed … can't happen in a playoff game.
Fire the clock operator!
