Jalen Brunson Went Full Grit Mode And Karl-Anthony Towns Dropped His Nuts On The Pistons As The Knicks Took A Commanding 3-1 Series Lead in Detroit

Goodness gracious that was a battle. Like literally. To the point I was expecting a Hell In The Cell to drop over the court in the middle of the game when the refs decided to stop calling fouls for both sides and someone getting a no-call despite being tossed from the top like Mankind.

Giphy Images.

Nope, instead the Knicks outbattled the Pistons in their building thanks to one of the grittiest superstars in basketball and an absolute sniping big man that carried the team in nut crunching time. Say what you want about KAT's passive nature or high pitched squealing at refs. But the motherfucker was a cold blooded killer when it mattered today.

Good LORD.

There's not much to say about Playoff Brunson that the numbers don't already say yet everyone forgets every Spring before he does the same shit yet again.

I didn't get a good look at the last shot of the game by the worse Tim Hardaway. But all I've heard the last week is that players should focus on hitting shots instead of trying to draw some contact in an attempt to draw a foul. So I guess we'll shake hands, say good game, and hope the drugs they used on Jalen Brunson's ankle today work just as good before Game 5 so we can close this goddamn series out.

A couple of thoughts that I had along the way

- Today was the best mindset I've seen the team come out with all season. I don't know if it's sustainable, but it's nice to know that it's in them after coming out aggressive in Game 3 as well.

- Josh Hart remembering how to hit threes changes EVERYTHING.

- Whether or not he's hurt, I love the offense a lot more when someone else brings the ball up for Brunson instead of making him fight the entire way while he is getting his ass kicked.

- Watching Mitch shoot free throws in the playoff leaves actual bruise marks on my soul.

- I forgive Bridges for missing like a bunch ofwiiiiiide open threes in the first half for hitting a couple with guys all over him in that fateful fourth quarter.

- This was the exact nut check win the fans have been asking for all season to go along with a gutty Game 3 win. Let's rewrite the narrative on this team with a close out win at home on Tuesday night in front of what should be a rabid MSG crowd.
