The Celtics Are Now On The Brink Of Elimination And It Sure Looks Like Jayson Tatum Tore His Achilles

FUCK. FUCK. FUCK.
I can't even focus on the fact that the Celtics blew another double digit second half lead to lose Game 4 and put their season and title defense on the brink. None of that fucking matters. What matters is that Jayson Tatum is seriously hurt. I'm not a doctor, but every single sign points to Tatum's injury being a torn Achilles
This looked just like the Dame play. A non-contact injury like that almost ALWAYS means one thing when it comes to basketball players. A popped Achilles. The fact that this came on a night when Jayson Tatum was INCREDIBLE is what makes this so painful. He was sensational all night. An incredible 42/8/4/4 with great defense, he met the challenge and then some. Granted nobody else on the roster decided to help, but now who the fuck knows. In the immediate, there's little chance the Celtics come back down 3-1 with Jayson Tatum out. This game and the sequence of events have effectively ended their season barring some sort of miracle.

But this is bigger than that. A popped Achilles means Tatum is most likely going to miss all of next season as well. This is a guy who has never had a serious injury in his career, and now he's had one of the most serious. I don't even know what to say, my entire body is in shock. It just shows how quickly things can change. A misstep here, a misstep there and boom. Not only is your title defense most likely over, this now carries into all of next season/next playoffs etc.
I am devastated. Not only just because of the 3-1 hole the Celtics are in because they've blown two 20 point leads and a 14 point lead, but because Jayson Tatum is seriously hurt. I feel like I'm rambling at this point, but it's a lot to take in at the moment!
Credit to the Knicks, they were absolute nails in the second half. Didn't miss a single shot. They made the plays and earned this win and now they are a win away.
But fuck man. This absolutely fucking sucks.
