Nic Cage's New ‘Spider-Man Noir’ Trailer Proves He WILL Become The #1 Peter Parker In Our Hearts, This Live Action Detective Show Looks Very VERY Good
2026 cannot come soon enough! Seriously how is this show real? Somehow we've been blessed with a slow boiling noir about arguably the most popular super hero alive, in a gritty black & white tone that's using Nic Cage to his absolute demented fullest?
To quote the man himself, I'M CUMMIN:
You certainly won't find me complaining about the Cage-aissance continuing for another few years. Ever since 'Pig' & 'Mandy' came out he's been on such a tear with extremely legit roles, not that he ever left.
But it's especially wild to see a small part he played in an animated movie become such a potentially iconic live action show now. I love Tobey, Andrew's fine, Tom is great, but could NIC CAGE become the world's most beloved Peter Parker? Why not?
This teaser just really smelled like Peter 1 material man.
And although I know plenty about Nic K. Cage, I don't really know that much about Spider-Noir himself outside of a few brief moments in the 'Spider-Verse' movies. That's a pretty exciting unknown in this modern age of diluted super hero content.
I will definitely need Robbie & Clem down in My Mom's Basement to find a Spider-Expert out there to break down the Noir comics. Seems like there's a cool distinct edge to this version of Spider-Man that's worth checking out. What the hell is this!
Hopefully Sony can break the curse of their awful morbin movie universe by using this show as a launch point to a positive new era.
Gloriously led by this good man,
And don't forget it also has Lamorne Morris from 'New Girl', Brendan Gleeson from 'In Bruges/everything', Li Jun Li who just played Grace Chow in 'Sinners', and produced by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller who not only made the 'Spider-Verse' movies but also 'Lego Movie', '21 & 22 Jump Street'… all very enjoyable times at the cinema. With just the right amount of dementia. And most importantly entirely unique.
I trust they picked the right writers & directors for this too. As long as they let Nic cook, all will be well. Also blind ranking my top 3 Nic Flics, hmmm maybe
1) The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
2) The Rock
3) Vampire's Kiss
Last) Specifically just the scene where he gets an affair laden handjob, cums, farts, exhibits absolute shame in a way that only an Oscar winning actor can. Yeesh!

But technically all of his movies are tied #1 for me. Let's just appreciate his greatness while we got it. I have no doubt he's gonna redefine what it means to be Peter Parker. Plus we're due for another all-time blood curdling scream, or two.
