All These Years Later And There's Nothing Dumber In Sports Than Hockey Players Pushing Opponents Into Their Own Goalie
It happens all the time. What's a word that is worse than a pandemic or an epidemic? Because usually those things go away after a little bit of time. But hockey players--defensemen, in particular--have been pushing opponents into their own goalie for years and years now. Here's a blog I wrote in 2017 to prove it.
And what makes this move even more idiotic is then the team has the audacity to get pissed off at the dude who literally got shoved into the goalie. That's the part that never made an ounce of sense to me. Evander Kane gets launched into Adin Hill, and all of a sudden it's his fault that he just steamrolled the shit out of Hill.
What is he supposed to do there? Deny the laws of physics and not go crashing into the goalie after getting crosschecked from behind? What's even more insane is that somehow, Evander Kane ended up receiving a penalty out of that whole ordeal.

Fortunately the Hockey Gods were working last night. Not only did Vegas not score on that powerplay, but Evander Kane ended up getting the last laugh in this one after scoring his 4th goal of the playoffs to seal this game at 3-0 in the 2nd period.
You know that one has to sting a little extra for Adin Hill. That's when you know a dude just owns your soul for a night. Especially considering how on tilt Hill was all night. He went full Binnington, and paid the price dearly.
That's why you never go full Binnington.
It just sucks this series is probably going to be over before the weekend. These 9:30pm puck drops on the East are bullshit. You're never going to keep people interested in the playoffs if you give them Carolina vs Washington at 7pm.
