Nic Cage As John Madden & Christian Bale As Al Davis Look Fucking INCREDIBLE For Their New Movie By David O. Russell, Cue Up Autumn Wind!

Button up your chinstraps and start defrosting the Turducken. That 'Madden' movie we heard about back in 2023 just released their first photo tease and whew boy does it pack a fucking punch directly in my A-gap.

After being forced into retirement by the Oakland Raiders, fiery former NFL head coach John Madden teams up with a mild-mannered Harvard programmer to rewrite his fading legacy by building the world's first football video game.

I can see some people complaining that it just looks like Nic Cage in fat suit instead of John Madden. But to that I say,

Fuck YOU.

Didn't you see me willfully asking for a continued Cage-aissance yesterday? Have respect idiots. Originally it was gonna be Will Ferrell in the role, which seems like it would've come off a little too silly. SNL Digital Short vibes. Nic will bring the right tone to this, no doubt about it. He's a myth maker. One of the greatest storytellers of our generation.

And across the aisle? Oh just another Oscar winning actor who's an equally great American psycho and guaranteed to deliver maximum fiery vibes as Al Davis. His sound operator audio is probably exactly what a NFL locker room sounds like when the owner walks in after a loss.

Childs play for Christian Bale.

There's no release date yet but I'd imagine it'll be sometime in the fall of 2026. Got a great supporting cast too along with David O. Russell directing, he previously worked with Bale on 'The Fighter', 'American Hustle', and 'Amsterdam' which I've never ever heard of but will assume is a real movie.

And despite being a pretty big NFL fan and avid player of the Madden video game, I really don't know dick about the relationship between John & Al or how that game came to exist. I know they introduced each other for their Hall of Fame inductions so at least it ended on a high note? But I gotta imagine there's gonna be some incredible tension in this movie. Maybe some table flipping. But definitely should be a helluva ride with all this talent involved.

Here's some quick video game history if you want a sneak peek of that

Spoiler alert, Big John made $400 MILLION off Madden royalties alone. That's alotta Turduckens folks.

But there's no doubt the football part of this film is gonna hit like a Mike Alstott bash up the B-gap. These 2 dudes are arguably the most Football-y Football Guys to ever exist. And table throws be damned, looks like they did know how to run a team together.

At least for a bit.

Can't wait to watch Nic & Chris cook together on the gridiron. Absolute legends playing absolute legends. This is my Super Bowl goddamnit.

If you got a spare 44 minutes, the Football Life of Al Davis is below. Just win baby.
