'You Want To Come Down Here And Say That?' - Brooks Koepka Wanted A Heckler To Meet Him Face-To-Face After Chirping About LIV Money
I'm not just saying this because we're Brooks fans here, I'll say this about any sport and basically any player. If you are getting chirped, you have every right to say shit back. I firmly believe that. You wanna run your mouth to an athlete while they are playing, they have every right to respond. Spare me the money talk, we all know the deal with LIV money by this point. It's just a lame chirp from the guy in the stands. If you're going to try and mock Brooks, I'd maybe go with something other than hey man, you're filthy rich. At least learn from the best to do it
I know people like to think of the 'you suck, you jackass' as the ultimate heckler. Oh no, it's Mr. Larson. He wasn't going to back down from Shooter when confronted. He let him know how it was.
I do wish Brooks said something more clever back. Fair is fair here. Of course the guy wasn't going to come down and say that. 99.9% of hecklers shrink the moment an athlete says something back to them, but also, if he tried to go down he'd get speared by a security guard. I know Brooks played awful this week, but it wasn't just LIV players. Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Spieth, Hideki, Jason Day, Rickie and Lowry all missed the cut. Sometimes golf is fucking hard, even more than sometimes.
I know everyone loves to say golfers are soft. Well, this could have changed that. Brooks should have stood there until the guy came down, if he never did then Brooks won the fight. If he did, let them battle it out. Then again, Brooks has all that guaranteed money, so how can you really care. Main point here - if you're going to talk shit, be creative. Mix it up, the money stuff doesn't play anymore. It's not year 1 of this happening.
