Of Course Jalen Brunson Is A Top-5 Knick Of All Time - He Saved The Franchise, Made Them Good And Changed The History Of The Team

I saw this tweet going around this morning and people arguing back and forth on it. It's also one of those slow days because we don't have playoffs on today and just trying to regroup from the weekend. I don't even think it's a debate, Jalen Brunson is easily a top-5 Knick of all-time. Big Cat said it perfectly with the playoff wins, but it's more than that.

Jalen Brunson saved the franchise. This was one of the worst franchises in all of sports, not just basketball. Losing season after losing season. Players refusing to come here, basically using the Knicks for leverage and crushing us fans in the moment. We remember the photoshops, we remember the rumors. Then came Jalen Brunson. 

This is why I laugh when I see people like Dante and others crying about Knicks fans celebrating. We haven't had shit to celebrate! Who cares? You beat the reigning champs, move on to the conference finals to play a rival, yeah go celebrate. The whole ring culture ruined any celebration where people just love to shit on fans celebrating any win. You should celebrate the lowest of wins, no one should give a shit. You know why we're celebrating? Because we have Jalen Brunson.

He changed the entire history of this franchise. No longer listed on 'been 25 years since a conference finals' list that always pops up. He made it cool to be a Knick. He's the reason the Knicks are making moves to try and win a title. You don't bring in a Mikal Bridges or OG or Karl-Anthony Towns without Brunson bringing us to the playoffs and winning games. You have the superstar, you needed people around him. The old Knicks? Yeah, we've seen that. We saw what they did with Carmelo and Amar'e. They screwed that up and constantly tried bringing in washed up guys or guys that didn't fit. 

It's very easy to me, the top-5 Knicks in some order: Patrick Ewing, Dave DeBusschere, Walt Frazier, Willis Reed and Jalen Brunson. Hell, Rick Brunson could be a top-5 Knick considering he fathered Jalen Brunson and is willing to fight Thibs on the sidelines to get starters out of games.
