Fact: Bryce Harper Has Turned Into The Best Player In Baseball Since Buzzing His Hair

The thing about the greats is that they're not afraid to look at greatness that came before them as a source of inspiration. They're not hung up on not trying to be like somebody else. Instead, they use them as inspiration to then become even better. Kobe was inspired by Michael Jordan. Wayne Gretzky was inspired by Gordie Howe. Tiger was inspired by Jack. You take a few things that the greats before you have done, and you build off of that.

Clearly Bryce Harper was inspired by Nick Sirianni.

The Philadelphia Eagles were 2-2 entering their bye week this previous season. It certainly wasn't catastrophically terrible, but it wasn't great either. It was nowhere close to where the Eagles wanted to be. So coming out of the bye, Nick Sirianni showed up to coach that week 6 game against Cleveland with a shaved head.

Maybe it was because he was going through a mental crisis. Maybe it was because he needed to change up the juju in the building. Maybe it was because he was just sick of having hair. Either way, Nick Sirianni shaved his head, and the Eagles went on to win 16 out of their final 17 games of the season including the Super Bowl. From 2-2 to 19-3. Obviously it's not ALL thanks to a buzzcut, but you'd be foolish to not at least attribute some of that success to the buzz.

Bryce Harper wasn't having a catastrophically terrible start to the 2025 season. But it wasn't great, either, and it certainly nowhere close to where Bryce Harper thought he should be performing. So it was time for a change.

Maybe it was because he was going through a mental crisis. Maybe it was because he needed to change up the juju in the building. Maybe it was because he was just sick of having hair. Either way, Bryce Harper has turned his season around and has become an absolute mutant ever since buzzing his head.

He still hasn't been able to get the long ball going quite yet. But this Phillies team is different. This Phillies team doesn't live and die by the long ball anymore. They have the 5th best average in the league, but they're 18th in home runs. We've seen in the previous few years that this team can boiling hot or freezing cold when it comes to home runs. Now they're just moving guys around the bases, and actually manufacturing runs instead of just mashing them.

Now that Bryce buzzed his hair, he might climb up to top 10 in the league in RBI's by this time next week. But here's the thing--Bryce Harper doesn't care about any of that. All this man wants to do is win baseball games by any means necessary. A buzzcut for Nick Sirianni resulted in a Super Bowl for the Eagles. If that's what it takes for Bryce Harper and the Phillies to win a World Series, he'll never be able to run his fingers through his hair ever again.
