Frankie Luvu Wants To Ban The Tush Push. In Other News, Cats Want To Ban Dogs
Asking Frankie Luvu if he thinks the NFL should ban the tush push would be like asking Josh Gordon if the NFL should get rid of drug testing. It would be asking Antonio Cromartie if they should ban paternity tests. It would be like asking anybody from Georgia if they should ban traffic violations. No shit Frankie Luvu wants to get this play out of the league as quickly as possible. Because until the NFL bans the tush push, he knows there's no possible way the Commanders can stop the Eagles' defense 3 times per season.
Obviously he hates the play because he knows they can't stop it. If the Eagles are playing every offensive series like they have at least 1 free yard to play with, that's how you end up getting your dicks caved in against Philly in the NFC Championship Game every year.
But what's funny about when you listen to Frankie Luvu talk about why he thinks the league should ban the play, he almost tells on himself. He starts off by saying "it's a cheapo play. You have Jordan Mailata on the right, you got...."
There it was! There it was! That's the real reason why Frankie Luvu, and everybody else for that matter, wants to ban the Tush Push. Because at the end of the day, they know the Eagles just have the dudes to pull it off. They know the Eagles have these monsters up front, and their defense can't match up with them. It has nothing to do with player safety. It has nothing to do with the optics of the play. It has everything to do with the fact that the Eagles just have dudes who are massive, and have perfected this play.
Obviously he caught himself there and switched over to the canned talking point of it looking like a "rugby scrum". But we got the truth right there. Frankie Luvu knows he can't beat Jordan Mailata and and Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens and Tyler Steen. That's what it's always been about.
Sidenote: I really didn't want to do any more Tush Push blogs. But there were no playoffs last night, so this is what we're stuck with.
