The Eagles Need To Make This Sumo Wrestler Their Next Project At Offensive Line After Watching This Takedown
We've already seen the Eagles take Jordan Mailata from rugby and turn him into one of the best offensive linemen in football. They saw his size, they saw the transferrable skills, and they knew that Jeff Stoutland would be able to get him up to speed on the technique. A few years later and now he's an All-Pro tackle, and a Super Bowl champion.
Kazuki Ura is 32. So maybe he's a little past the point where an NFL would want to take a chance on a guy. And maybe he's a little undersized at 5'9". But this Takayasu dude he went up against is 6'2", 388 lbs. There's not a defensive lineman in football who is going to be bigger than that, and Ura just made him look like a little bitch.
Give me Cam Jurgens snapping the ball, Jordan Mailata on the left, and Kazuki Ura on the right. The Eagles can just go with 3 linemen and Jalen Hurts still would never get touched. Maybe bring a pitcher over from Japan for the Phillies when you go over to get him, and they can share a translator while they're here. I feel like the language barrier has to be the only reason why NFL teams haven't tried to sign sumo wrestlers before, right? The Replacements gave NFL GMs the blueprint and they just took it as a joke for some reason. Beats me, but I know Howie Roseman is smart enough to make the call here.
