'Star Wars Battlefront 2' Is Hitting Record Numbers TEN YEARS After Its Release Because Fans Want 'Battlefront 3' So Bad

Star Wars fandom is absolutely THRIVING right now. Last month's 'Revenge of the Sith' re-release was one of the most successful anniversary releases of all time, 'Andor' wrapped up on a better note than anyone could ever imagine, Fortnite has been completely taken over by lightsabers and stormtroopers, some lunatic did a 24 hour stream just to celebrate May the 4th this year, and 'Battlefront II' numbers are hitting all time highs as we speak! And why, you ask? Is it because they just released some new DLC, or updated anything in the game at all?! Nope! It's because fans are trying to pressure EA (or any other studio) into making 'Battlefront III' - we want new maps, heroes, and stories to play through online and we want em now!

Steam numbers have hit all time highs in the last week and are only growing by the day, and the rumors suggest there could be upwards of 300k concurrent players at peak hours! It's funny comparing this lively resurrection to the discourse around EA's 'Battlefront II' when it first came out; I think a lot of people felt like it was a failed launch with not enough content/too many bugs. Slowly but surely, though, they added new worlds and layers to the game and got it to be a VERY enjoyable playing experience. As you could see in the clips above, it's cinematic as hell, the graphics hold up extremely well, and the giant open world levels put you into the action in a super immersive way. We just want that experience to continue with updated maps from 'The Mandalorian' or 'Andor' or even some of the different animated series or something! Hell, put some Old Republic shit in the next one, maybe even some 'Legends' or 'Extended Universe' shit! Throw Darth Jar Jar in there like Fortnite did! I can't even imagine what the capabilities of the next gen systems would allow for a game like this.

It doesn't look like EA is gonna make it....

….but I'd love for Activision or one of the other major studios to get their hands on the license to just go wild.

Marvel Rivals became one of the biggest games in the world in no time and a 'Battlefront III' made right could dwarf that overnight in my opinion. Someone needs to make it happen.
