Finally, Common Sense: Mike Leach Is Eligible For The College Football Hall of Fame In 2027 After They Changed Their 60% Win Percentage Rule
I wrote this nearly 2.5 years ago
We were talking about a .4% difference of Mike Leach already being in the Hall of Fame. A number that is so small it doesn't matter. We're not changing anything because like I said in that original blog you can't tell the story of college football without Mike Leach. He changed the game. He was innovative in what we saw offensively. He was a face and a character that the sport always needed.
I think having a winning percentage minimum is pretty stupid. The Hall of Fame is based on winning, obviously, but it's also based on things done within the game. Not to mention winning isn't equal. Winning at Texas Tech is different than winning at Alabama or Ohio State. Not to mention he was 3 wins away from hitting that 60% and getting in the Hall of Fame a few years ago. 3 wins doesn't define a Hall of Famer. It can define a title, but not if you're in the Hall of Fame. Hell, he should be in the Hall of Fame for this alone:
Or any of his press conferences
Good to get Mike Leach in, Howard Schnellenberger should be next.
