Good Times: It Took Mere Minutes After The Knicks Choked Away Their Season That We Got A Report Of Knicks Players And Coaches 'Frustrated' With KAT

[Source] - High expectations weren’t just grand outside of the locker room, they were permeating inside of it, too. New York’s ability to be connected as one rarely matched the individual talent on the floor. The latter was just so great that it covered up the team’s flaws on most nights.

Publicly, Knicks players made veiled comments all season about poor communication causing their inconsistencies. Behind the scenes, they and coaches expressed frustration with Towns’ defensive habits — less concerned with his talent level and more with his process on that end. Too often, Towns executed incorrect coverages without communicating why he did it. After it became a theme, players worried Towns didn’t grasp the importance of the matter.

Awesome! Love seeing this just minutes after the Knicks choked away their season. Look, I don't know what the hell to expect here. Everyone knows KAT sucks on defense, that's not breaking news here or anything. But, if it's communication and just not giving a shit then it's a major problem. Also feel like this comes out just in case the Knicks move on from KAT this offseason. They can point to this and say see, we didn't feel like we could get to the Finals with him and this is why. 

There are two ways to look at this season. It was a success. The Knicks haven't been to the Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years. They finally got to that point. Then, once there, they pissed down their leg and choked the season away. Game 1 was as brutal of a loss as it gets. Game 2 was not being prepared, turnovers and missed free throws. Last night was no ability to play defense and every mistake possible. That shit can't happen in a do-or-die game. 

All I know is this article was sitting there for days, if not weeks. There's no way you have this locked and loaded without reason. I don't know what else to think besides the Knicks trying to either 1) put pressure on KAT and the reasoning for running it back or 2) get ahead of any backlash if they move on from him after one season. Incredible that it took minutes for this to come out. Couldn't even wait until Monday, that tweet is posted at 11:33pm. Good times. Great times even. Trust Leon Rose, keep winning, but right now this all just fucking sucks.
