The Chicago Fire Just Absolutely Cucked Jerry Reinsdorf And The White Sox Out Of Their Potential Stadium Site

Did Jon Mansueto just become the best owner in Chicago? I think he did. Absolutely swooped in under the White Sox nose to get the stadium the Chicago Fire have desperately needed since their inception. And the most important line of the entire thing..."privately funded". How the Chicago Fire are able to privately fund a brand new state of the art stadium in the City by themselves while the owners of the Bears and White Sox squable with state and local politicians for funding is beyond me. Reinsdorf should be embarrassed. 

What a statement of intent for this ownership group. The Fire have always been a forgotten pro team in this city while others in the MLS like Columbus, Portland, Atlanta, Kansas City, etc have built big and passionate fan bases. I really do believe that playing at Seat Geek and then Soldier Field for all of those years really hurt the fire when trying to build a fan base and an atmosphere. Those days are gone now. Mansueto putting all of his chips on the "if you build it they will come" strategy for fan development. I am in. I obviously love soccer, but I'd be lying if I said I could name a single players on the Fire. Now, I think I can get in. I don't know any players, but I will support Mansueto. The rendering looks incredible. I am sure it'll work as a great concert venue too. 22,000 seats is the perfect capacity. It'll be full and it'll be rocking. Can't wait. Ishbia has to be fuming sitting on the sidelines.
