Coco Gauff Wins The French Open!

AMERICA!!! What a performance from Coco to win that in three against Sabalenka. You wanna talk about persevering and holding your nerves? You won’t see it better than that performance from Gauff. Sabalenka? The complete opposite. Just a total mess, letting her emotions completely overtake her throughout the match and get the best of her. Coco was just too solid and never cracked mentally. 

Through 5 games Coco found herself getting hit off the court, down 4-1 and two breaks. This thing looked like it was gonna be over real quick. Yes she lost that set in a tiebreak, but that fight allowed her to fully believe that she could hang around and grind this out in the long run. If she kept pressing like that, eventually she’d find a way and that she did.  SEVENTY unforced errors from Sabalenka will certainly do it. Maybe the biggest UE was her forehand miss on a second serve break point to try and level the 3rd set before Coco served it out. That’s her game though. She hits big and goes for it. Just overcooked it too much there. 

Coco Gauff now has 2 grand slam titles to her name. Both coming against Sabalenka. And what’s crazy is she’s still only 21 years old. Debuting at 14 will do that. What a stud. Also how about American women owning the last two slam titles? USA!!!!

Now we wait until 9am tomorrow for Sinner-Alcaraz. I cannot wait
