The Philadelphia Phillies Are Literally Bringing Philly Fans To Tears
The Phillies were just swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates. They lost 2 out of 3 to the Toronto Blue Jays. And they were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers, which included a game where they got 17 runs hung on their ass. So the past 10 days have been truly abysmal for this baseball team. They're 1-9 in their last 10 games, are now 4.5 games back of the Mets in the NL East, and are barely hanging on to a wildcard spot in the NL.
With that being said....
It's baseball in June, man.
The Eagles just won a Super Bowl 4 months ago. We can't be over here crying about baseball.
I get the Phillies are disappointing and frustrating as shit. I get that the same issues that have plagued this team for the past 2 seasons are still the same exact issues they're having today. I get the team hasn't done a single goddamn thing to address those issues. They just keep running back the same squad with the most inconsequential lineup changes. The same exact reasons why the Phillies lost the NLCS to the Diamondbacks in 2023 will be the exact same reason they don't make it back to the World Series in 2025. Everybody knows it but the team is too afraid to make any significant changes to the roster. It is what it is.
But maybe wait a few more months before we're crying on the radio. I get that getting swept by a dead last place team in their division isn't a great look, but we can't be crying over that in June. It's just a terrible look for Philly fans everywhere.
The Eagles winning a Super Bowl has given the other 3 teams in this city a little bit of wiggle room to work with this year. They can be special, and just add to the magic in this city. Or they can be total fuck ups, but we can just forget they even exist in the first place. Like what happened with the Sixers this year once they decided to shut down Embiid, Maxey and Paul George. Just forget they exist for a little, and everything will be okay. It's baseball, guys. Baseball. Clean it up.
