For The 20th Time in 40 Years, the LSU Tigers Are Going to Omaha And Can Win It AGAIN!

The LSU Tigers are headed back to the College World Series in Omaha YET AGAIN. 20 times in 40 seasons is absolutely insane.

What is even wilder is they have won 7 titles in those 19 trips in 8 team fields?!?!?

This squad has a heckuva chance to make it 8. Led by stud starting pitchers Kade Anderson & Anthony Eyanson, the Tigers have the best 1-2 combo in America.

The offense also has plenty of talent led by power hitters Bear Jones & Ethan Frye, No one can get All American Freshman Derek Curiel out.

LSU punched their CWS ticket with a 12-5 thrashing of West Virginia Sunday night after winning 16-9 Saturday. The Mountaineers did not seem to enjoy the South Louisiana sweltering heat in June and I can't say that I blame them. Alex Box is a super intimidating environment especially for non-SEC teams who have never played baseball in front of 12,000 raging Tiger fans.

Can LSU win it all for the 2nd time in 3 seasons?

It is certainly possible. The whole key is winning Game 1 against Arkansas on Saturday behind Kade Anderson. That is a battle of college baseball super powers. The loser will have to gas its pitching staff to fight back to make the title series.

If there is a weakness on LSU, it is vulnerablity in games not started by Anderson or Eyanson. Winning Game 1 is the key to making the championship. (Little Rock gave the Tigers all they could handle in the Baton Rouge Regional in Games 6 & 7 in this scenario).

With the offense coming alive in a big way in the NCAA Tourney, I would not bet against Jay Johnson's bunch in Omaha.

One thing is for sure. The city of Omaha is elated that LSU and their legion of fans are coming back. That city is about to make A TON of money. LSU fans had over 25,000 jello shots at Rocco's in 2023. NO ONE parties harder than South Louisiana.
