Simply Unbelievable - Jon Jones Reportedly Accepted AND THEN TURNED DOWN The Long Awaited Tom Aspinall Fight

Listen - I've written and spoke about this plenty before, so I don't wanna bore you with too much backstory here, but for the uninitiated: UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has been seemingly ducking a fight with UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall for months now. Most fans thought Aspinall should've gotten a chance to face Jones back in November, when the UFC booked Jon Jones vs a 42-year-old Stipe Miocic (coming off the most brutal knockout loss of his career) - but instead he became the first fighter to ever defend an Interim Championship, which was ridiculous.

Even after that, Jones was trying to say he'd fight anyone under the sun except Tom Aspinall because either it wasn't a good enough win to gamble his legacy over, or because Tom was too disrespectful in the build - which is ridiculous considering this was the call out....

Jones will go on wild tweet-storms basically claiming he's retired now, and doesn't care about Aspinall - but also only talks about Aspinall and how much that fight is requested by the fans.

Now the latest report from Ariel Helwani seems to indicate that Jones demanded an absurd amount of money for the Aspinall fight, the UFC called his bluff and matched his price, he accepted, and then un-accepted!

Are you kidding me?! If that's true I'm gonna be livid. It truly just feels like the more fans want this fight, the more Jon Jones refuses to give it to us. He's actively doing everything he can to make everyone miss out on this fight, and permanently altering his own legacy in the process.

Don't get me wrong, he'll still be the GOAT if he doesn't fight Tom, but you will never and I mean ever be able bring up Jon Jones in a conversation without someone else saying "But imagine he fought Aspinall? What woulda happened?" He's the worst GOAT in sports history and I'm sick and tired of it.
