Rock, Flag And Eagle: Nobody Showed Up More Prepared For The US Open Than Jason Day And His American Flag Shorts
There was a time I'd absolutely hate this. I'd scream that you can't wear American flag shorts/bathing suit at the US Open, even during a practice round. But then I remembered, who gives a shit? It's a practice round. It's all because of his sponsor anyways and frankly, he's perfectly dressed. This is a staple at basically every pool in America, especially the Pittsburgh area, in the summer. You walk around and you'll see one guy wearing these shorts and that's been the case for at least two decades, maybe even more.
Now, while I do agree with Cons that America has gotten too casual:
I've also gotten to the point where I've stopped giving a shit what people wear. I'm not saying you should be wearing a hat, t-shirt and shorts to a nice restaurant, but I don't give a shit what you're wearing on an airplane or a bar.
Again, I can't stress this enough, it's a practice round. Not to mention it's way better talk than seeing a ball get dropped into the rough for the 12th time today. Hint: it's long, the way it should be at the US Open. Don't miss the fairway and you won't get punished. This is the US Open though we're talking about, guys going through qualifying, former athletes, dentists, whatever, why not let a man wear a summer staple during a practice round.
