Brian Boucher Was A Couple Drops of H2O Away From Jumping Into The Oilers' Bench And Fighting Jake Walman For Squirting Water Across The Benches
Jake Walman isn't a guy you should be seeing nearly as much of in the Stanley Cup Final as we have. You know that meme where there are 3 dragon heads with 2 of them being scary, and then the other being a silly little cartoon dragon? Connor McDavid is a big scary dragon. Leon Draisaitl is a big scary dragon. Jake Walman is a silly little cartoon dragon. He's the type of guy who should just get out on the ice, make sure he doesn't fuck up, and wait until either McDavid or Draisaitl do something special.
Instead, he's squirting water into the Panthers' bench while the Oilers are down 4-1 in the 2nd period. And he's throwing haymakers at Tkachuk's head while he's already getting wrapped up by another player.
Those are the type of antics that only make the Florida Panthers grow stronger. They thrive in that chaos. Those waters are too deep for a guy like Jake Walman to swim in. Somebody needs to put an end to it, and it was almost Brian Boucher after he caught a few ricochet sprays of aqua there between the benches.
You can see the look of total disgust on Boosh's face with the incident. He knows that this isn't some dude who is getting in the minds of his opponents. It's just some pigeon who has lost control, knows his team is getting shit pumped, and lashing out. If anybody on that bench deserves to lash out, it's the superstars. He tried to smack a little sense into Walman with those two quick smacks on the glass. One or two more squirts across the bench and Boosh would have had to take care of business himself. If there's one man who knows a thing or two about the unwritten rules of the bench, it's Brian Boucher.
Either way, I'm starting to think more and more that Walman was born to be a Maple Leaf. He'll fill that hole that Marner leaves in the roster perfectly.
