Can Somebody Tell Drake London That These Are All Illegal Forward Passes
I get it. I really do. It's been months since we've had football in our lives, and everybody just loves to see the fellas back out there chuckin' the old pig skin around. Just seeing guys out there with helmets on is enough to make your brain become ravenous for more football. Heck, we've got people losing their mind over Deebo Samuel looking like a blogger catching a ball against air.
So it's understandable why everybody is jizzing themselves over the clip of Drake London dribbling a football. We're dying to have football back in our lives, and this is the perfect amount of ridiculousness to scratch that itch. The only issue is....
These are all illegal forward passes. The NFL rulebook clearly states that if "a runner intentionally fumbles forward, it is a foward pass".
Those all look pretty dang intentional to me. Sure, it might be a neat little trick. But why is everybody acting like Drake London is about to have a "breakout year" just because he is literally breaking the rules? You'd think maybe he would want to be working on developing skills that are actually permitted and useful during a game. It would be like everybody cumming their jeans over a video of Patrick Mahomes kicking the ball to his receivers. Even if Drake London ended up taking a handoff behind the line of scrimmage before dribbling the ball like this, it would just be an incomplete pass. So congrats to Drake London on not knowing ball. I'm sure the Falcons are going to be extremely dangerous this season because of it.
