Shane Lowry Is In Hell At Oakmont - Duffs A Chip Out Of The Rough, Throws A Course Mic In Disgust
17 is one of the more fun holes at Oakmont. You can drive the green, or at least get it close like Shane did here. But you miss and you're in this rough with brutal lies and trying to hold a green. You can see Lowry just completely duff one here but it's not the shot, it's what happened after the shot. It's where Shane Lowry had enough.
Love it. I want this in golf. Too many guys are too buttoned up and not willing to throw a green side mic after a couple bad shots. Let out the frustration. Give me a club throw, give me a Tyrrell Hatton-esque freak out. Give me Shane Lowry throwing a mic and not just because I'm trying to will my +5310 win bet back into life here.
There's a lot of talk about Oakmont being a little too easy right now. It was always going to be easier in the morning and we're going to see it get even tougher later. Also Robby makes a good point here
Show us the bad shots, no matter who it is. Let us see these guys struggle and fight for bogeys. I should mention the mic toss worked
JJ Spaun will come back to life from his 31 on his first nine. All I know is Lowry is throwing mics not even halfway through round 1. I love it. Give me guys getting pissed off as much as possible for 4 days.
