"I'm Surprised I Didn’t Have To Give Them One Of My Kids!" - Bill Burr Hilariously Answers Whether Or Not Disney Could Use His Likeness In Future Star Wars Projects
I love watching this relationship between Bill Burr and Star Wars/Star Wars fans grow and develop over the years. It went from Bill Burr shitting on the franchise and making fun of the fans (in a hilarious manner, no offense taken here)....
....to Bill being cast in 'The Mandalorian' for a great/hilarious part in Season 1....
….to Bill returning for one of the best episodes in the series in Season 2, where he completely steals the show….
….to now being so engrained in this galaxy far, far away that he's getting the most specific, nerdy, niche questions from die hard Star Wars fans on the Monday Morning Podcast.
This person asked if Disney would be able to use his likeness in future Star Wars projects, as they thought it was a missed opportunity to not have a young Migs Mayfeld present as a sniper at the Ghorman Massacre from 'Andor' - something I've seen brought up by a few fans. It's not something I felt was necessary, as it probably would've taken away from the drama of that moment, but it does fit the character's backstory and tie the universes together in a way we never saw, so I get it as a theory - but I digress.
Bill's answer was basically, "Yeah, they could do whatever the fuck they want with my likeness", adding that he's surprised he didn't have to give them one of his kids with the amount of contracts that were signed. And while I didn't think it would've served the story/audience to include him in Andor - I sure as shit hope Migs makes his return in 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' on the big screen. He'd be the PERFECT cameo in that movie.
P.S. The conclusion of Andor was so incredible that we're still discussing it on My Mom's Basement, a month removed from the finale, just because we can't get enough. We spent the first ten or so minutes unpacking it with our pal Jose Youngs this week….
….and it was confirmed today that the show hit #1 on the Nielsen streaming charts for the finale arc….
I really hope Tony Gilroy gets a blank check for the next project he wants to do, because he deserves it.
