The New Buccaneers Throwbacks Jerseys Are Pure Heat
The Buccaneers had teased a new uniform announcement for a few weeks and this morning showed off some new throwback threads they'd rock this season.
They'll wear them for only the Week 3 game against the New York Jets at Raymond James Stadium, which will bring some extra added excitement to the team's late home opener.
It's also a strategic play as in the NFL, the home team gets to choose if they'll be wearing white uniforms or their colored uniforms. With this game being at 1pm EST, the sun should be shining and heat index will be high. Going all white will be reflective in a tactic made popular by my guy, former Buccaneers Head Coach/Barstool Employee, Jon Gruden.
The uniforms themselves date back to the original 1976 Buccaneers season and this home opener will kick off the 50th season of NFL Football in Tampa.
Big Cat got a couple Bucs jerseys to unveil today and of course he set them aside for the Tampa fans, Zac and myself. But he teased it as a top level surprise I'd have to win, so we played a game that involved the senses. Like touch…
And taste.
Yuck!
But in the end, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was worth it! A new Buccaneers throwback Baker Mayfield jersey! What an awesome gift!
