Old School Cheating: Memphis Hoops Is On Probation After 'Two Softball Players Were Paid $550 To Complete Coursework For A Former Basketball Player'

Do you know how hard it is to get caught for doing something illegal in the current NCAA? Well, allow me to introduce Memphis basketball and you know what? I gotta give them credit. This is old school cheating. This is getting other people to find a way to cheat at school for you and making $550. Also hilarious looking at the courses.

Intro to Theatre and Health/Sports Terminology. Those are the prime classes you take as a senior and just need a few credits to graduate. Shout out Managing Baseball as a class at Kentucky, taught by the head baseball coach and canceled half the time because he was in season. Great class, up there with Coaching Basketball. Somehow those pass/fail classes lined up as actual credits and went towards a diploma. The difference is I didn't have an academic counselor offer a whopping $550 for that.

This also shows how different the times are. A few years ago? Memphis isn't playing in the NCAA Tournament (might not anyways, because of talent) and getting railroaded for years to come. Now, probation? That's nothing. I'm pretty sure Memphis has been on probation since I was born in 1987. I just need to know how this all went down. You're telling me the softball players couldn't negotiate a 4 figure deal for this? Feels like that's proper, but when you're in college you take any money you can get. Also how dumb do you have to be as the counselor to get caught? That's really the point here, this is so hilariously stupid that it can only happen to Memphis. Good to know in today's age when you can pay players, do whatever, Memphis still finds a way to cheat old school style.
