Billy McFarland Sold The Rights To Fyre Festival On EBay For The Whopping Price Of $245,340
I feel like the Fyre Festival has been a topic of discussion for like 8 years now. And despite owing $23 million to the victims of the first festival, there's a saying about crazy and not giving up on your dreams somewhere. Unfortunately this spells the end for Fyre Festival, which last we heard was fighting the Mexican government who said they wanted absolutely nothing to do with it:
Then, Billy said that it's officially Joever and instead decided to sell to the "top bidder":
Well, the sale was finalized, if you believe Ebay's auction system and the fact that absolutely anyone can put outrageous bids for things on there without actually getting charged. I remember we did some Ebay auction one time and there was a like $500,000 bid for something probably not worth that within minutes, because some troll just typed in some numbers and click bid. And while the title says a "whopping $245,340", that's more-so an indication of the fact that no one really wants the brand that was selling million dollar experiences for a music festival.
But if the sale is real, then it just goes to show how people will pay dollars for any brand with an ounce of publicity, even if it may be considered the worst investment of all time because not a single human will trust it for the rest of time. And if you're wondering what that type of money can get you in terms of a meal service at the festival:
Great times on the Internet when that whole scheme was going on. And remember the fella who admitted to taking a Big One for the team in the times of peril?
