The Guardians Have A Chance To Turn The Season Around With 5 Straight Series Against Teams Under .500

Not even two weeks ago, the Guardians had just lost their 10th straight game (courtesy of a beautiful 9th inning, 2 out, 2 strike passed ball by Bo Naylor that sent us to extras to give up a million runs against the Tigers). The season was declared over by anyone and everyone. This year's version of the ball club, from the bullpen to the hitting to the fielding to the manager, have all regressed from the magical season we had in 2024. And the question was no longer if we were going to be buyers or sellers at the deadline, but rather if Steven Kwan and Emmanuel Clase were going to even finish THIS season in Cleveland.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Not so fast my friend! Just when the night was the darkest, the dawn finally started to appear for the Guards. After losing 10 straight, Cleveland rattled off 6 of 7 straight wins to head into the All-Star break. And while sitting at 46-49 and 4th in the AL Central....a mere 12 games back of the Tigers.....seems like way too daunting of a task to recover from, the fact of the matter is we're only 4.5 games out of the Wild Card spot. And here's our first 5 series heading out of the break:

Look all I'm saying is that we have 13 days until the trade deadline and we gotta give this team a chance to continue the hot streak out of the break that they went into it with. Sweep the A's at home this weekend and get back to .500 and a whole lot of attitudes in the fan base will chance. We open with 5 straight series against teams under .500 and that doesn't even include the plenty of games we still have with the White Sox.

This season is NOT over. Do not sell yet. Give us a chance to make a run against the A's and Orioles and Royals and Rockies....and if we can't do it, sell (not Kwan and Clase though, please). But stand your ground, Cleveland. As awful as the 10 game losing streak was, we can absolutely be right back in the playoff picture by August. The schedule lines up very very well to start the 2nd half off strong. It starts tonight!!!
