The Best Golfer In The World - It's Once Again Scottie's Tournament After He Went Out And Caught Fire With A 64 To Lead The Open

We're a couple days removed from Scottie Scheffler basically asking what's the point of winning all the time when he stops celebrating 2 minutes later. Well, Scottie, it's because you're the best in the world. There was roughly a 4 second gap where Matt Fitzpatrick made a ridiculous par save on 18 to go in at -9 and felt good.

For a half second I almost let my brain think Fitzpatrick was in a great spot to at least be a co-leader going into the weekend. Then I remembered I'm dumb because Scottie had a bunch of holes left still. He immediately answered:

Then he answered again with a 17-foot putt. I'd show the video but golf doesn't have it up yet somehow.

There's not much to say about Scottie. We see it every major, every time he plays. He's inevitable. Yesterday he barely hit fairways, looked average and still shot -3. Today he started hot

We did get introduced to hoodie Scottie

Those few minutes of nasty weather weren't even that big of a deal. He dropped a shot on 11 and then birdied 3 of the remaining holes. I know everyone is already crowning Scottie champ and rightfully so, it's what happens when he takes the lead at a major. He's the most dominant golfer we've seen since Tiger and has been lights out during the majors this year. Also seems unfair that he had a lights out putter today, people would say that's his biggest weakness, especially at The Open.

All I know is, yeah, shit can happen. He can have a bad round, someone can go out and shoot a 64, he's only one up, bad weather can come in at the wrong time and fuck him up a bit. But it feels over. It's Scottie's tournament to lose and we're only halfway done. Inevitable.
