Normal Times In Cincinnati: Mike Brown Tries To Claim He's Not A Cheap Owner, Reportedly Offers Trey Hendrickson An 'Atrociously Low' Deal
There are a few signs that football is quickly approaching. We had some weather below 70 degrees this morning and more importantly owners are running their mouths.
We can add Mike Brown to this list now. Mike Brown is well-known for being historically cheap, it's always been the quick line back to Bengals fans when talking about the team. He's not known as being some great owner, they don't win, there's always some sort of drama going on it seems like and that doesn't change now.
Right now you have 1st round pick Shemar Stewart nowhere near signing and sitting out. That's a whole different story because it's language being put in the contract that's different than Bengals draft picks prior. A good old fashion standoff between the two with each blaming each other and fans starting a civil war between who they want to blame. At the same time you have Trey Hendrickson, dude who led the league in sacks last year wants a new deal and is holding out.

Well, we got star reporter Manti Te'o on it
No idea how Te'o got the scoop here but if there's one man who you can trust it's Manti Te'o. It wouldn't be shocking if this is true considering this is what Hendrickson posted this morning
Yeah, seems like it's a low-ball offer, at least in Hendrickson's mind. I just can't stop laughing at Mike Brown doing the 'I'm not a normal business owner' routine. Dude is constantly called one of the cheapest owners in the sport and it's not like he has a ton of winning to back up how he runs the team. I also don't understand blindly trusting the billionaire owners vs the millionaire players/coaches.
All I know is this all means we're close to football. If you have a Bengals player threatening to sit out, Jerry Jones saying something stupid and fans fighting for/against owners, we're close. The dog days of summer are almost over and we'll have sports on TV again here soon.
