We Are Being Blessed With New Drake Tonight

Well, my day just got a whole lot better. Scratch that, everybody’s day just got better. Drake just announced that Iceman Episode 2 is dropping tonight at 9PM EST, and that can only mean one thing, we’re getting more Drake music. Based on the first episode, I’m assuming it’ll be another mix of unreleased tracks, teasers from his upcoming album, and whatever chaos he decides to bring to the stream. But here’s what’s has me fired up…. right after the first Iceman episode, he dropped “What Did I Miss,” which debuted at #2 on the charts. And if you remember, Drake wasn’t exactly thrilled about that runner up spot. He even said, “Don’t worry, I got something for that.” So maybe, just maybe, we’re about to get another weekend anthem.

This is where Drake separates himself from every other artist in the game. His music is obviously elite, but it’s his ability to create moments around it that sets him apart. These live streams are his playground. Whether he’s cycling through 20 different accents for no reason, calling out haters with “stand on what you said now that I’m here,” or working in a random ice shop like he’s doing a shift at some frozen crystal boutique (because I still don’t know what you officially call a place where they trim ice, but “ice shop” feels right), Drake knows exactly what he’s doing. 

He’s not just giving us music, he’s giving us an experience. And honestly, this is why people still get excited every time he posts anything. He’s mastered the art of hype without making it feel forced. Whether it’s calculated or completely unhinged, it works.

So yeah, my weekend has officially started early. I’ve already cleared my evening, I’ve got drinks in the fridge and I’m ready to watch greatness. More Drake music, more Drake antics, and hopefully another track that immediately goes into the rotation. Tonight is going to be a movie.
