American Eagle Announces Upcoming Fall Ad Campaign With Sydney Sweeney - Stock Immediately Sky Rockets

Last year I suggested that companies in search of growth and success were better off paying Sydney Sweeney a lot of money for advertising on her Instagram rather than ponying up millions upon millions for a 30 second Super Bowl commercial. Today I feel vindicated.

Yesterday American Eagle launched an ad campaign with Sweeney as their new face. The reaction online was as you'd expect —nuclear.

And what was the immediate impact? American Eagle's stock —I had no idea AE had a publicly traded stock—sky rocketed. The folks over at Wall Street Bets got wind of this and had a field day buying any stock they could get their hands on. This might be Game Stop all over again, folks.

I'm just picturing the board meeting about American Eagle's next big step and one guy throwing out there, "what about Sydney Sweeney?" expecting to get laughed at and vetoed. The person at the head of the table slammed his hands on the table and screamed "that's it!" Now everyone is rich. True genius all around.

I knew we should have added Sydney as a fourth chair to The Short Porch when we had the chance. Tommy Smokes just couldn't wrap his head around it. Now we all know, get in the Sydney Sweeney business or get out of the way.
