New Fear Unlocked: Riders At The New Sirens Curse Coaster At Cedar Point Had To Take The Stairs Down The Track After A Malfunction

As you get older, the idea of rollercoasters become less and less appealing. Rollercoasters are maybe the one thing I think shouldn't have been improved as time goes on, as long as the safety is at the absolute top notch it can be. I don't need crazy rollercoasters doing outlandish shit that you would have never dreamed about 20 years ago, but the new Siren's Curse rollercoaster at Cedar Point is a perfect example. Just look at this thing:

There is just zero chance that me at 30 years old is gonna go on that ride, even if you offer it to me for free. And turns out my fears are somewhat justified, because after a malfunction a few days ago, riders had to take the stairs down the track to safety. I don't know what protocol for something like this is, but I'm absolutely not doing that and am waiting for someone to physically lift me out of the seat with a harness that throws me into the safest net you've ever seen before I go down walking:

And I like cool innovation as much as the next guy, but there's no way you're gonna have me nearly hanging off the end of the track before you slowly put it down at a 90 degree angle with nothing in front of me but blue skies and death's sweet gentle kiss. My favorite part about this is that all the replies seem to indicate it opened back up like an hour later and had no further issues, and I gotta commend the people who took the opportunity at what was probably a shorter line than normal to finally ride. Good on you, and I'll keep blogging from a safe table with absolutely no elevation and just watch the videos from afar. Sheesh.
