The Mariners Are Officially Going For It As They Swing a Midnight Deal For A Reunion With Home Run Mashing 3rd Baseman Eugenio Suarez

There I was, sitting in bed refreshing myself on the fact that Steven Matz is still an arm to be desired in 2025, when a midnight blockbuster deal gave me a jolt of energy to ruin my sleep for the night. Geno heads back to Seattle. 

It's a move that declares the Mariners as a true threat in the AL. Having already acquired Josh Naylor last week, they reunite with the power hitting 3rd baseman who brings over his 36 bombs, the most ever by a player traded at the deadline. The Mariners usually sleep walk through the deadline and ignore their offensive weaknesses. Not this time. They've been aggressive and honestly didn't give up a whole lot here to get their slugger.

Seattle is loaded and not only a threat for the wild card, but the AL West as well. Going up against that staff and pen is a nightmare, but now you gotta handle a legit lineup too? No thank you. 

Deals are coming in left and right. Earlier today we got Duran to the Phils followed by Helsley to the Mets. Andrew Kittredge just went to the Cubs. Urias goes from the O's to the Stros. Littell pitched against the Yankees and was traded the moment the game ended to Cincy. And to think we still have another day to go with the Diamondbacks SP in Kelly and Gallen sure to go. Sandy and Edward Cabrera in Miami will be coveted. You might see Steven Kwan moved from Cleveland if a team agrees to take on Shane Bieber's money. The Dodgers will be in there for sure. Does Luis Robert go to the Mets like we all assume? What about high end relievers in Bednar and Doval? I need one of those two in pinstripes by 6 PM tomorrow evening. 

Oh and there's one ginormous piece lurking in the shadows —Mason Miller. The A's closer hasn't pitched since Saturday and was seen in the bullpen with a hoodie on during a save situation tonight. Something tells me he's going somewhere whether it be San Diego, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, or New York.
