Good Job By The Guardians For Keeping Steven Kwan....Now Go Make A Run At The Playoff

So the word around town was that after Emmanuel Clase was placed under investigation and therefore a suspension, the Guardians mindset shifted to become full-time Sellers. And while I went into last week more than confident that Steven Kwan would be in Cleveland for at least until next July, that completely flipped on it's head once the report came out that he was officially on the block. Words such as the Guardians are "trying to shop him". I couldn't sleep the night before the deadline, so I made me plea to the organization. But it looked feeble by midday....

When the report that a Kwan trade was viewed as "increasingly likely", I had started to mentally prepare for him to be gone. Where was he going to go? The Padres? The Dodgers? The Phillies? No doubt a Hall of Famer and World Series Champion wherever he landed. But as the clock struck 6:00......the flag was still there.

WE DID IT!!!!

And the point of this blog is that we can still do it.

Look I know that every single team we're competing with made moves to get better, but at least we didn't get significantly worse? Sure it hurt to see Shane Bieber go, but if you're telling me we got the #5 prospect back from the Jays for a pitcher we haven't see one time this season and would 100% not be re-signing, then that's a good deal. So now we go. With the same team we've had all season, minus of course our two pitchers on leave for potential gambling. Addition by subtraction there, right? And we've withstood a 10 game losing streak too and WE'RE STILL HERE. Let's make a fucking run at this thing now, starting tonight with a series against the Twins who just pulled off the firesale of the century. I could honestly see them needing to forfeit tonight because they don't have enough players.

But yeah, point being, we're sitting at 54-54 and just 3 games out of the wild card with 50+ games left. This season is not over. And next season isn't either now that we kept Kwan. Thank you, Cleveland.

Oh yeah, and fuck Clase. Innocent until proven guilty of course, but we would've gotten a HAUL back for him yesterday.
