Dan Fouts Hopping On The Call With Brent Musburger And Hitting Him With One Last 'Shut Up, Brent' Was Easily The Best Highlight From The Hall Of Fame Game
I talked about Brent Musburger yesterday. Dude was one of the biggest voices for me growing up. Hell, he still has that big game voice. Listening to him in the booth for the second half of the game last night you would have thought it was a playoff game simply because of Brent.
He still knows who he is at heart
Guy is still 1.1 when it comes to working in the line whenever he's on the air. Best to ever do that, no matter the sport. But you know what else Brent Musburger did? He called the Bourbon Bowl. He was a co-star in The Waterboy with Dan Fouts
So naturally, the best highlight from last night was Dan Fouts hopping on the call with his buddy last night:
Perfect. I would listen to a solid hour of Dan Fouts and Brent Musburger talking about The Waterboy. Plus, we know Adam Sandler is in the news right now considering every single person watched Happy Gilmore 2. Don't need a remake of The Waterboy, just give me Fouts and Musburger talking about their scenes and cracking jokes. No one loved his own joke like Musburger saying his wife took over the line.
I love even more that it was just on the fly too. I need to know when Dan Fouts thought of 'knocked the poop out of him' which is a sneaky great line in that movie. But again, this is what I want from preseason games. Let me reminisce on my younger days with old, great announcers on the call. I want storytime from movies or whatever they've been in. Last game of the year, can't hold anything back.
