The Yankees Deployed Their Super Bullpen Tonight And Proceeded To Suffer A New "Worst Loss Of The Season" Despite Scoring 12 Runs

That… was not supposed to happen. Yesterday the Yankees went out and traded for four players who many believed made them a lot better, myself included. For whatever reason tonight those four players Jake Bird, David Bednar, Camilo Doval, and Jose Caballero decided to combine their powers and sabotage this game. They somehow lose despite leading 9-4 and 12-10 at one point. They scored 12 runs against the Marlins and lost.
Jake Bird was the weaker name of the three relievers they acquired. He's more of a work in progress and currently in the middle of a rut. That rut is still going.
David Bednar then came in, which is when we learned he has horrific lifetime numbers in Miami. Lovely. Those continued to ring true.
Despite all of this, the Yankees bats kept mashing. Newcomer Jose Caballero—more from him in a moment—pinch ran for Ben Rice in the 9th and stole second which set up Ryan McMahon to drive him in for the go ahead run. Volpe followed that with his fourth hit of the night to extend their lead to two. Surely that would be enough for another new guy, Camilo Doval, to nail down the save. Oh no.

Well remember Caballero? He went out to play RF and of course let this base hit go UNDERNEATH HIS GLOVE which allowed both runners to score. This is the part of the night where I could feel my soul leaving my body.
The Marlins then won it on a two foot dribbler in front of home plate. It's an astonishing loss. Genuinely shocking. A special kind of nightmare that only the best horror authors in the world could conjure up. One of the worst regular season losses I can remember enduring in my life.
One minute you think you have a super bullpen and the next none of those new guys can do anything right. I feel like a kid who got an X BOX 360 for Christmas, but turned it on and saw the red rings of death. That's the kind of game you see in a movie and afterwards complain they didn't make it realistic enough. Nothing is certain in this stupid sport. We're all sick fucks for being this invested.
Would be cool to trade for some pitchers and they don't forget how to do their job. Shoot me
