New MCU Spider-Man Suit Just Dropped Thanks To A Reveal From Tom Holland, With Raised Webbing & A Bigger Emblem Like Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Combined. Plus Hulk & The Punisher Have Big Roles Too? SOLD!
Before we get into this new suit goofin', I'd like to say something possibly controversial. I think that song "Hero" by Chad Krueger and Josey Scott RULES. Unironically.
Maybe I'm biased because I grew up replaying my Spider-Man VHS endlessly and that music video played at the end of those credits. But even all these years later, it still fucking HITS.
Also shout out to this TikTok account that shares my sentiment whole heartedly. They've posted 700+ different versions of climactic movie scenes with that audio over it.
No surprise, but it works every time.
Side note, does anyone know what nationality Jon Voight was supposed to be in 'Anaconda'? Quite possibly the worst/most incredible accent in any movie ever.
But we'll keep things moving here past snake stuff, back to the spider shit.
'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' just started filming this month and today we got our 1st look at the newest Spidey suit to join the MCU. Lighting be damned, it's a thing of beauty. Back to formula… But in a good way.
RIP to that sleek homemade version we saw for 5 seconds in his last movie.
Hopefully we'll get a closer/brighter look soon but the reaction so far has been overwhelmingly positive. I like the touch of Tobey's raised webbing and the bigger logo like Andrew's suit. Makes sense that our MCU Peter would wanna pay homage to those guys after bonding over trauma & loss & great responsibility in his last adventure.
Doesn't sound like Peter #2 & Peter #3 will be joining Tom Holland & Zendaya in this jaunt though. But we will be getting Jon Bernthal back as The Punisher and Mark Ruffalo returning as The Hulk. No concrete villain yet but casting rumors suggest it'll be Mr. Negative as the big bad.
And also the guy who played Scorpion from a few movies ago too? Sure!
Can't wait to hear him scream his iconic line, "IT'S SCORPIN' TIME." That's gonna be so sick. But mainly I'm just glad comic book movies are building back some momentum after what felt like a decade of very hollow stories.
Marvel seems to have righted the ship with 'Thunderbolts' & 'Fantastic Four' and the 'Doomsday' arc sounds pretty promising. And DC is in great hands with James Gunn leading the charge, I thought 'Superman' was the best CBM in a long ass time.
It's unknown when they're gonna do Zendaya's outfit reveal for MJ but I will report back here when they do. Plenty of options to pick from though.
All the reports say this will be a more "grounded, street level" story for Spider-Man, and that's totally fine. But if they do decide to get weird and bring back the multiverse angle, my only request is to drop Nic Cage in there too. We need so much more Spider-Noir, gonna be hard to wait until 2026 for his TV show.
Also they need to bring back Willem Dafoe's cheekbones for another Green Goblin run, lifetime contract. Till he's 90. Quite possibly the best CBM villain performance ever.
DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH HE SACRIFICED???
And I'm not talking about the shoes Money.
PS: speaking of things that STILL HIT. Bah gawd. Seeing this in 7th grade changed my life forever.
