I'm Going Out On A Limb And Saying This 1990's Cowboys Doc On Netflix Is Going To Be Awesome Because I Read The Book

We talked about this a little bit during my Tik Tok live with PHX … shoutout PHX pehnomonal drink use code RICO5 to get $5 off an order and go follow them on social via IG and Tiktok - but the 1990's Cowboys doc series on Netflix is going to be a must watch for me. Let's first dive into docs a little bit quickly, it seems like when ESPN released their 30 for 30's they really had a grasp on the sweet spot of how much time had gone by since the story to release them. The same with whoever released the Manti Te'o one, and the Gilbert Arenas one. Enough time had passed that you go "oh yeah that story" in that you haven't thought about it in a while, but immediately are captivated that someone is doing a deep dive into it. But you don't want a documentary to come out instantly after a story is still so fresh … like the Karen Read. The Cowboys one is the perfect time to release because it has been a long time ago, but it feels like there is a full generation of people who aren't even familiar with how crazy they were, and a group like myself who were too young to watch and appreciate them for how good they were but know about the story and were fascinated with it, and then you have a group of older people who watched it all play out and want to relive the glory days one last time.
It's also great to release it now because, not to sound grim, everyone involved is still alive. You need Jerry Jones, you need Jimmy Johnson, Mike Irvin, Deion, Troy, Leon Lett etc. And I'm sure they will be happy to get one last chance to tell people their story and laugh at all craziness while still flexing how good they were.
Having read the book I was fucking amazed at just how crazy these teams were. I'll leave you with this … the book opens with a teammate stabbing another teammate in the neck over a barber chair. A full on fucking circus while winning multiple Super Bowls. Everyone should be all in on this … MUST WATCH.
Final final note … let's pray they don't sugar coat it and let the Cowboys have final edit, or Jones cut things etc like they did with the Florida one. It sucks if they do.
