Victor Robles Had An All-Time Crash Out Last Night As He Launched His Bat At The Pitcher After Being Hit For The 5th Time In 15 At Bats

Mariners outfielder Victor Robles is currently in the minor leagues on a rehab assignment as he tries to come back from a dislocated shoulder. I get the feeling he's gonna be down there a little bit longer than expected after last night…

Bonus: He also tossed a buckets of sunflower seeds on the field. He felt the throwing of a bat didn't fully send his message across. 

Incredible. Sneaky loved him bending down as if he was going to take off a shin guard and jog to first only to pick up his bat and launch it at the mound. 

Now before you jump to conclusions about the crazed man who launched a goddamn bat at a pitcher, let's absorb some context. 

I don't care what you say, getting hit 5 times in 15 at bats is outrageous. That's fucking insane. Is it insane enough to throw a deadly weapon at the pitcher? Yeah probably not, but I see where he was coming from. Probably also embarrassed that he swung at the pitch too, further fueling his rage. This same pitcher has hit him three times in the last year, twice this week and last year in the big leagues. Either that or these are the worst pitchers in the world, which might be valid considering the A's big league pitchers can't throw, so how good could their AAA guys be. 

I do respect the genuine apology rather than having your agent type out some generic PR bullshit. Totally get how angry he was considering he's at the tail end of a LONG rehab stint that's kept him away from the Mariners big league club most the season. All Robles wants to do is join the postseason run that the Mariners are headed towards and here are these minor leaguers hitting him pitcher after pitch. Yeah, I'd be mad too. Maybe not mad enough to throw my bat like that, but I wouldn't be happy. 

Next time leave the bat in the box, just charge the mound, and beat the shit out of the guy with your bare hands. You'll get a lot more fans on your side with that plan than the ol' assault with a deadly weapon idea.
