We Have Some Insight Into How The Justin Bieber Imposter Was Able To Dupe Everybody At XS On Saturday Night, And It Comes Straight From The DJ, Gryffin
So John Rich sniped this story earlier and blogged about what happened at XS on Saturday night.
In it, he cited every source from the planet except for the guy he works with. Who posted about it before all the clickbait farms. But that's ok.
Here's what happened -
Longtime friend of Barstool, Gryffin was DJing on Saturday (he actually used to play shows wayyyyyyy back in the day during the Sammy Adams tour and Blackout days when he was the brains behind "White Panda").
He's one of the biggest names in EDM in the world, and he has a residency at XS, where he's there once a month or so.
He's one of the smartest and most musically talented people in the DJ game- no bullshit, he graduated from USC, and is a classically trained musician who can play like 100 different instruments. So he's no slouch. This wasn't DJ Diamond Dave (shout out) DJing at the VFW and getting duped by a Wayne Newton impersonator.
This was one of the best DJs in the world, DJing at the best nightclub in the country- no joke. XS has been around like 17 years now and it's still the marquee name in nightlife in the world capital of nightlife. Best club, in the best hotel, run by the best operators, featuring the best talent lineup, in the United States.
So for people to be assuming this was amateur hour, or that people will be losing their jobs over this- clean it the fuck up.
Jon Taffer is not being called in by Steve Wynn to clean house and get things back on track. This isn't Kaos at The Palms.
This is just a shitty situation, and one I'm honestly shocked doesn't happen way more often. I had friends who were there for a bachelor party (Shoutout Jeff White)- all club guys, operators, djs and talent buyers- and even they were all fooled by fugazzi Bieber.

Honestly, if I own XS (in my wildest fucking dreams) I'm not even that upset by this.
Obviously, I'm not thrilled and congratulating the staff for this, but deep down in places I don't talk about at parties, I'm silently fist pumping over the amount of exposure this has generated. Again, you're an almost-20-year-old nightclub. This kind of wall to wall coverage isn't easy to come by these days.
You just have to be sure something like this never comes close to happening again. I don't care if Dua Lipa and Tate McRae show up and tell the GM they want to scissor on stage while doing a duet. You just have to say no.
