'Nothing Worse Than Trying Hard And Playing Like Ass' - Xander Sums Up His 2025 Season, Nothing But Good Vibes Going Into The Ryder Cup

We're a year removed from Xander being the 2nd name listed thanks to two majors. But, he battled injury and never looked the same this year. Now he's missing the Tour Championship, finished outside the top-30 and vibes have never been higher heading into the Ryder Cup. 

Whatever this reset is, we need it. We're on Ryder Cup watch now. Nothing that happens in the Tour Championship impacts this season. I know they are doing the new system where it's just the top-30 guys, no starting strokes, winner wins the event. But it's Scottie's tour. He could finish 30th in the Tour Championship and it's still Scottie's tour. 

But this is golf. Golf is getting away from everyone and everything for 4 hours, trying hard, playing like ass and being pissed off. Honestly the best thing to happen to my game is just accept I am who I am as a golfer and stop getting mad at some bad shots. Just enjoy being on the course with the boys and not have any responsibility for those 18 holes. Again, major difference being me playing in my league or on a weekend morning vs millions of dollars, legacy and spots in events. 

We need good Xander at the Ryder Cup. Who knows if he'll have his normal partner in Patrick Cantlay there, so we need the 2024 Xander to show up. I want nothing more than to kick Europe's ass at Bethpage. Nothing worse than trying hard and being complete ass. That is all too familiar of a feeling.
