It Seems Justin Herbert Has Joined the Ranks of the Truly Great QBs by Apparently Dating Madison Beer

Stop me if you've heard this before, but with great power comes great responsibility. This is true of teenage science students with radioactive spider blood, but especially true of quarterbacks.

By definition, a QB has to be a leader. It's not an optional trait; it's a requirement of the job. In the most literal sense, the other 10 men in the huddle look up to him. And therefore, they need him to project the air of being a winner. Both on and off the field.

Which is why, to truly succeed in this grueling profession, you need to demonstrate to the men you lead that you are worth following. In the same way that for thousands of years, proving you're a true leader of men required you to be able to ride a horse and command a battlefield, quarterbacks owe it to everyone around them that they can attract top female talent. As Brent Musberger so perfectly expressed it:

Sure, things didn't quite work out for AJ McCarron in the pros, but he understood the assignment when it came to inspiring his troops. Tom Brady and Gisele being the most famous example. But also Russell Wilson and Ciara. Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld. Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn, Danicka Patrick, and Shailene Woodley. Joe Burrow and Olivia Ponton. Joe Namath and every Cigarette Girl in Manhattan from 1965-75. A host of others.

And so it would appear that, as he enters his sixth season, Justin Herbert is ready to take that next step. To be more than just a former Offensive Rookie of the Year and one time Pro Bowler. But one of the true greats. At least according to social media, he's with none other than Madison Beer:

And according to some speculation, he pulled off this comeback last year against Denver with two 4th quarter touchdowns with Madison in attendance:

So while me may all just be finding out about this, it's possible there's nothing new here. And it might explain how he caught fire at the end of the season, going 3-0 down the stretch with 7 TDs, 1 INT and a nearly flawless game beating the Patriots at New England 40-7 in Week 17.

If so, good for Herbert. Sometimes becoming a true champion requires one to step up, seize the reigns of greatness in your hands, and prove to your men you are worthy of their respect. Justin Herbert may have just taken that leap forward. If he has, there is a Super Bowl MVP in his future.
