#Somethings: The Shaq vs Dwight Howard Feud Is Over After Shaq Confirms That He'll Be A Presenter During Dwight's Hall Of Fame Induction

We're just a few weeks away from seeing the 2025 Basketball Hall Of Fame Class be inducted into basketball immortality, and this year's class is certainly doesn't lack starpower. The Team USA roster from 2008 is getting the nod (Redeem Team), and from the player side, we have Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Sue Bird, Sylvia Fowles, and Maya Moore all making the cut as well. While some classes have a player or two who may be debatable in terms of if they're truly HOF worthy or actually Hall Of Very Good worthy, I would not say that's the case in 2025. All of these are no brainer HOF decisions (in my humble opinion).
Given we've now entered a time where players from the era many of us grew up watching are all now entering the Hall Of Fame, it's both a total mindfuck and a bit depressing when it comes to the realization that we're all getting old as shit. Part of the ceremony is each inductee picking who presents them to the Hall, which I always find interesting. For example. Melo is going to have DWade and Allen Iverson as his presenters, which I think rocks.
When it comes to Dwight Howard, his initial list was also impressive, consisting of Patrick Ewing, Robert Parrish, Dennis Rodman, and Dominique Wilkins. That's a pretty legit group of NBA legends if you ask me, but something was missing. If we're coming up with a list of dominant big men to present one of the most dominant big men of his era, then it only makes sense we also include arguably the most dominant big man of all time. That's Shaq if there are any young stoolies who weren't aware.
The thing is, Shaq and Dwight have a very public feud. For years, they would go back and forth, and while Shaq's disdain for Dwight wasn't quite to the levels he clearly hates Rudy Gobert, it was still a pretty well known beef.
It was always weird how sensitive Shaq was about Dwight being called Superman and doing that whole routine while he was on the Magic
But with Dwight about to enter the HOF, it appears we can finally bury this feud for good

As they say, time does heal all wounds, and frankly, it was long overdue for these two to get over whatever beef they had. The whole thing was stupid as hell anyway, so it's good to see that finally, in 2025, that truce has happened. While we'll probably never see a center as dominant as Shaq, one of the closest we've had in the modern era is easily Orlando Dwight

Don't let this new generation gaslight you when it comes to Dwight Howard. Not only is he a clear first ballot HOFer, but it's also complete bullshit that he was left off the NBA's Top 75 team. I'll never understand that move. No Dwight, but Dame made it? How the hell does that make any goddamn sense?
A perennial top 5 MVP candidate, 4 straight DPOYs and 1st Team All Defense selections, it's hard to express just how devastating that version of Dwight Howard was. The way he completely controlled games on the defensive end was unreal, and something we only really see with Wemby in 2025. Teams avoided the paint/rim at all costs when Dwight was on the floor, and he was also then putting up 20 a game without a deep offensive arsenal.
You know how the NBA put out those 1:1 sitdowns with players that used to have beef like they did with Shaq/Kobe and Magic/Isiah?
Now that the Dwight/Shaq beef is officially squashed, I'd love to see them have a similar sitdown. Two of the most dominant centers of their time, their Orlando/Lakers connection, it feels like a no brainer and something that myself and basketball fans everywhere would very much enjoy watching.
