The New Saquon Barkley Documentary On Prime Video Premieres Just In Time For The First Eagles vs Giants Game This Season, Which Surely Can't Be A Coincidence

De Niro. DiCaprio. Saquon.

When you think of the biggest stars on the planet who Martin Scorsese has worked with, that right there is the list. And not necessarily in that order. Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro have never put up 2000 yard seasons before.

In today's day and age, it's not crazy to think that every star athlete has a camera crew following them around at all times. Not that sports documentaries are anything new, but I feel like "The Last Dance" really solidified the idea that people are hungry for years and years worth of behind-the-scenes footage. The more moments you can capture, the better the story is going to be. But at the end of the day, you still need to have a story to tell. I'm sure there are plenty of guys out there who have a camera crew following them around for years, but nothing of significance ever happens in their career. That's just a bunch of wasted footage.

But not Saquon. The past season alone for Saquon was worthy enough of a documentary, but getting to see the 4-years that led up to it is going to make everything that much better. Getting a chance to see all the ups and downs along the way from his perspective. Going from the face of the Giants' franchise, to the falling out during the 2024 offseason, and then starting his new chapter in Philly. Getting a chance to see all that from Saquon's perspective is going to be great, and it's all going to be produced by one of the greatest directors ever. The story alone rules, but the story telling is obviously going to be phenomenal.

And to make it even better? The documentary premieres on October 9th. If that date stands out to you for any reason at all, it's because the Eagles will be playing at Met Life Stadium against the Giants on Thursday Night Football that week. So I don't know whether the documentary drops earlier in the day, or later that night. But it'll be a massive Saquon day on Prime Video that day. My guess is he goes off for at least 200 yards that night.
