All Heart: Sergio Decided To WD From The Irish Open This Week Becase He Was Mentally Destroyed From Not Making The Ryder Cup Team
I admire the fact Sergio loves the Ryder Cup but, uh, we are talking about the 2025 version of Sergio here. There was basically a 0% chance he was going to make the team. He was 140th on the European points rankings, which, yeah, obviously fucked by LIV but you still get the idea here.
I don’t think you can say you were mentally destroyed when you didn’t have a chance. I’d love to know Sergio’s brain during this quote. Did he think he’d get asked as a vice captain or something? Remember, Europe is bringing the same exact team from Italy, with the exception of trading out one twin for the other. 11 returnees, coming to Bethpage, and Sergio wanted to bully his way on there. I admire the delusion and like I said, Sergio was a great enemy during Ryder Cups.
You also can’t skip the Irish Open. Ireland is the best. I’m not incredibly well-traveled but I will die on the hill that Ireland rules. Great golf, you get to play the K Club this year, good beers, you can’t pass that up. All I know is we have to win at Bethpage.
