GUNN BOMB: James Gunn Announced He Is Making A 'Superman: Man Of Tomorrow' Movie That Will Be Released On July 9, 2027

Looks like James Gunn poured himself some more Stella Blue Coffee and decided to shake up the nerds on the internet again. I don't personally know that James drinks Stella Blue, but considering he is the only person who pumps out as much content as Big Cat (while also loving dogs just as much), I think it's pretty clear where Jimmy gets his fix. It's tough enough to run an entire studio. But running said studio right after relaunching an entire cinematic universe AND churning out banger after banger on television as well as the silver screen then writing another Superman movie is some true sicko shit.

I know everyone had to give their take on Superman, which resulted in it ranging from the best superhero movie to the worst superhero movie depending on who was squawking. But I thought it was good. Not great but perfectly fine for getting the extremely important man in red underwear on the DC chessboard as they built out the cinematic universe. I thought the next movie is where Superman could stretch his legs/character out a bit and be more of a focal point of the film. We'll see if that's the case, but it's nice to know we are definitely getting a new Superman in two years with Nicholas Hoult returning as a suited up Lex Luthor to kick some ass (maybe teaming up with Superman to kick Brainiac's ass?) in a movie that will somehow beat The Batman 2 into theaters despite it having a three year head start.

We will obviously talk MUCH more about this and all things DC, including James Gunn's current awesome project Peacemaker since #GunnDontMiss, on this week's My Mom's Basement.
